Matthew Hancock's vision for technology in the NHS

In an interview with The Observer this weekend Health Secretary Matthew Hancock set out his vision for bottom-up technology development in the NHS in order to avoid repeats of costly mistakes and ensure integrated care, he's quoted as saying: “I’ll go round the world looking for the best technology that can save lives and improve the lives of clinicians too. We need to be embracing it.” You can read more here.

The Dorset Care Record which seeks to share "appropriate information electronically to a single place" and "offer direct access for authorised health and social care professionals to provide a full as possible picture of ... history, needs, support and service contracts" would seem to be a prime example of such innovation.
