This document is intended as a resource for commissioners, managers and healthcare professionals in the context of delivering objectives of the NHS Long Term Plan. The aim is to ensure a standardised level of competence in the performing and interpreting of spirometry testing and aid accurate diagnosis of COPD (and asthma), in primary care. The secondary purpose of the document is to support commissioners and PCNs in the development and commissioning of spirometry services.
