BTS and Respiratory Futures session at the RCP Medicine 2019 conference

The British Thoracic Society and Respiratory Futures will be attending the RCP annual conference in Manchester on 25th and 26th April in order to promote the respiratory specialty and the excellent respiratory work taking place across the UK. As well as a stand in the exhibition space we will hosting a lunchtime symposium, on Thurs 25th at 1.15pm in Exchange 1, entitled: “The Long Term Plan: a Respiratory Response” which will shine a light on the work of the BTS, RF and that of three fantastic respiratory clinicians and their teams. The session will be chaired by Dr Jon Bennett, Chair of BTS Board of Trustees and David Brindle, Public Services Editor at the Guardian. The speakers are

  • June Roberts, Associate Director Transformation – Integrated Care and Consultant Nurse, who will be talking about Integration at the level of population health at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust,
  • Dr Helen Ward, Consultant - Respiratory and Acute Medicine speaking about Vertical integration at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and the New Cross Hospital Joint Palliative Respiratory Clinic, and
  • Dr Matthew Evison, Consultant – Respiratory Medicine, who will share more about the CURE secondary care tobacco addiction programme, Manchester Lung Health Checks and the RAPID lung cancer pathway.
