Produced by NHS England, this guidance supports ICS clinical leadership to create and develop their virtual ward service. It acts as a starting point for development and provides some core clinical considerations for further development to achieve a mature virtual ward offer. It sets out how virtual wards should be developed with providers, co-produced with local people, and given knowledge about their population’s health need and local resources within the community.
