This statement is intended to be a reference resource on the impact of climate change on respiratory health and a call for action against this threat from both a clinical and public health perspective, and from members of today's society. The statement also expresses the position of the ERS and European Lung Foundation in support of all policies that mitigate climate change impacts, which are imperative to improve the health of patients with lung disease in Europe and prevent new climate-related lung diseases.
