The British Thoracic Society (BTS), the British Infection Association (BIA) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) have announced a new collaboration to develop a joint guideline on the diagnosis and management of latent and active tuberculosis (TB) in children and adults.
The development of the guidance comes at an important time, as tuberculosis cases continue to rise following decades of decline. The joint guideline will bring together the expertise of BTS, BIA and NICE to provide evidence-based recommendations that support the diagnosis, treatment and management of tuberculosis across all age groups.
